Knoxville Opera Military Chorus
JOIN US IN PATRIOTIC SONG
Knoxville Opera is sponsoring a Military Chorus to serve East Tennessee with select performances at civic events around the area.
This special ensemble will cover a range of patriotic anthems and hymns, and all active duty and veteran members of the military are invited to join as we continue to enrich our community through a legacy of artistic excellence.
BOOT CAMP ROLL CALL
We’re hosting two special “Boot Camp” sessions to meet the group and learn more about our programming.

These sessions provide an opportunity to meet the group and learn more about the repertoire. Singers of all skill levels are welcome, and opera experience is not required.

Who can join the Military Chorus?
We are looking for singers and musicians from all branches of the military. Anyone who has served or is currently serving is welcome to apply.
Can families of military service members join?
We are grateful to the families of service members for all they do. However, at this time the Military Chorus is only open to active or veteran members of the military.
Do I need opera experience to join?
No! Our repertoire will cover a variety of patriotic hymns and ballads, including many you are already familiar with. Opera range and/or experience is not required.
Is this for professional singers only?
Absolutely not! We welcome singers of all skill levels to join. If you can match pitch and carry a tune we’d love to have you join.
What is the time commitment?
In addition to performances, meetings will be held once a month at Knoxville Opera’s office near the Old City. These meetings will include rehearsal and an opportunity to socialize and build camaraderie among the group.
Where will the Military Chorus perform?
In addition to performing the national anthem at key civic engagements, performances will include a range of patriotic anthems and hymns to serve a wide range of community events in the Knoxville area.
